About me
Looking back, I was writing about people’s loss in my late teens when I was learning the ropes as a junior reporter. Not only was I writing obituaries but I was being sent round to people’s homes, sometimes just hours after they had lost someone (usually in tragic circumstances), to “get the story”.
Journalists are often derided for this form of ambulance chasing but I found in the vast majority of cases that people were willing to talk to me. It seemed to help them come to terms with their loss although it was sometimes very difficult for me to remain dispassionate. When my maternal grandmother died I wrote a eulogy for her and saw how it lifted the atmosphere during the service. That made me realise I wanted to help others in the same way. I was a journalist (in newspapers, magazines, radio and TV) for more than 12 years and have spent more than 20 years as a PR consultant. I am used to turning pieces of writing around in a quick time. |
What I do
When you contact me, I will clarify the length of the eulogy (in terms of time - 5 minutes equating to about 900 words), the cost and who I am writing the eulogy on behalf of.
I will then supply (usually by email) you, or that person or people, with some questions to help you/them clarify the information you/they need to give me. We can then gather this information by phone call or Skype, whatever is most convenient for you/them.
I will then draft the eulogy and email it over for your/their review. Once I have your/their feedback I will present it to you/them as it needs to be delivered – in print of a suitable size to be read standing up, with punctuation to help with its verbal delivery, and so on.

Testimonials
" Unable to write about my much-loved mother, recently deceased, through lack of any writing talent and also too raw emotionally, I sought help through the Eulogise website and a lass called Tracy. With a journalistic and PR background, she really knows how to write and was extremely sensitive and sympathetic during the planning process. I would recommend her highly. "
